The team of the Medical University of Vienna attempts to improve the understanding of the effects of chronic diseases on children and adolescents. It is of great concern to us to develop and test methods for improving participation opportunities in school as well as in everyday life outside of school, such as the Avatar A1. Developing and testing methods to improve participation opportunities in school as well as in everyday life, is of great concern to us. A comprehensive team of experts is responsible for this task, led by Dr. Thomas Pletschko, Bakk. (Clinical Psychologist; Head of the Pediatric Brainfit Lab). The team of the Medical University of Vienna is primarily responsible for the allocation of the avatars, the implementation of the projects with the partner schools, the tasks around the scientific process (e.g. submitting grant applications), as well as the quantitative scientific assessment and evaluation. For this purpose, we always work together with the respective project partners.

die Berater Unternehmensberatungs GmbH is a continuing education institute with a Die Berater Unternehmensberatungs GmbH is a continuing education institute with a focus on vocational training and human resources development in adult education. die Berater was founded in 1998 and today employs 450 people at over 50 locations throughout Austria. Services are directed at private individuals, national and international enterprises and organizations of all industries and sizes as well as at the public hand. 15,000 participants take up the offers annually. Fields of activity of die Berater are: Adult education, online learning, learning platforms, outplacement, youth projects, EU projects and consulting.

Thus, the Avatar is a unique heart project at the company, as we are convinced that the Avatar is an important anchor for children in difficult times. Our goal is to enable children to participate in everyday life again through the shining eyes of the avatar.

Universität Klagenfurt

The Institute for Teaching and School Development (IUS) at the University of Klagenfurt
focuses its activities on learners and teachers, on learning arrangements, organizations and the educational system. It is active in the fields of research and development, teaching and consulting and actively participates in national and international projects. The IUS, represented here by a.Prof. Dr. Agnes Turner, is involved in studies on the use of avatars to improve the school participation opportunities of students with chronic illnesses and is responsible for qualitative research in this context. Agnes Turner also leads the ERASMUS + project ABILITI (Avatar Based Interaction and Learning In Times of Illness, 2021-1-AT01-KA220-SCH-000023769). She teaches in the area of teacher education and teacher professional development, and conducts research in the area of emotional aspects of learning and teaching, mentalization-based pedagogy, and learning and teaching in a digitized world.

We, the TGM – the Technological Trade Museum, are a higher technical teaching and testing institute with over 130 years of tradition and equally long experience in forward-looking engineering education.
